In 2021, the total production of dates in Algeria exceeded 1.1 million metric tons, increasing slightly compared to the previous year. From 2010 onwards, date production in the country increased annually.
The production of dates is of primary importance within Algerian agriculture and significantly contributes to the agricultural exports of the country. Algeria is among the leading producers of dates, ranking fourth worldwide.
