According to the source, snowboarders are particularly sensitive to wrist fractures. During the 2019/2020 season in France, ** percent broke their wrist. More generally, it is the upper extremities that are most susceptible to injury in this sport. More than half of the injuries are localized on arms, shoulders and hands.
On the contrary, skiers are more injured on the lower limbs and especially on the knees. Since both feet are attached to the board, snowboarders are less likely to sustain knee injuries. Knee injuries are more easily caused by sudden lateral movements on the ligaments.
