In the fiscal year ending March 31, 2023, the French rail company Alstom reported around **** billion euros in order backlog, more than ** percent of which is in Europe. The sudden leap in order backlog since 2019/2020 is in part due to the economic downturn linked to the Covid-19 pandemic.
