Unemployment among the youth
Youth unemployment remains a challenge in the country, standing at in 2024. This divide is more pronounced in the 15-24 years age group, where the unemployment rate reached **** percent in 2024. These figures highlight the lack of job opportunities for young individuals entering the workforce, and the need for investments in job creation initiatives.
Unemployment gender disparity in North Africa
In the North African region, women are facing significantly higher unemployment rates than men. In fact, around **** percent of women in the region were expected to be unemployed as of 2024, compared to **** percent for men. This suggests difficulties accessing the labor market for North African women and calls for a region-wide improvement in the sector.
