As of January 2022, buses in Germany had an electric motor installed and were hybrids. While hybrids still make up the majority of alternative fuel drive buses in Germany, the number of electric buses on German streets is increasing particularly rapidly, nearly doubling year-on-year between 2020 and 2022.
