In 2023, there were five recorded executions in Singapore and Bangladesh each. Further executions in the Asia-Pacific region were also recorded in China, North Korea, and Vietnam, with China reported to have conducted the highest number of executions worldwide that year. However, the three countries did not publish official numbers for their number of executions conducted in 2023.
