(English: Do you prefer to buy used products online (such as Markplaats, Ebay, etc.) or offline (such as flea markets, thrift stores, etc.)?").

Marktplaats or Market Place is an online marketplace which only exists in the Netherlands and was founded in 1999. It was acquired by eBay in 2004, and is usually in the top 15 of most popular websites in the country. The source question implies that the (Dutch) respondents know exactly what this website is.

The Dutch did not have a clear preference for purchasing second-hand goods on either the internet or fleamarkets and thrift stores in 2019. Although the group that indicated that they prefer online purchasing was larger than the group dedicated to buying pre-owned goods the old-fashioned way, the largest share of the respondents to this survey said that they did not have a preference for either. In contrast, more than half of the consumers indicated that they prefer to sell their own used good over the internet.
