With a purpose of taxi market regulation, new law proposal was presented in the State Duma in December 2019.
In 2020, roughly 55 percent of surveyed passengers and 75 percent of employed taxi drivers agreed on the importance of valid Russian driving license for taxi drivers, thus this was the foremost clause to be included in the new law from to the public viewpoint. Nearly one third of passengers and 26 percent of taxi drivers also highlighted the importance of allowance to self-employed citizens to get taxi driving permit.
