As of December 2023, there were approximately million users of the South Korean mobile payment service KakaoPay. KakaoPay was the first fintech company to offer mobile payment (also called easy payment) services to the Korean public. A simple payment service allows consumers to make payments using simple authentication methods such as an SMS code or a QR code.
