In 2020, 72 percent of the total spending on travel and tourism in the Dominican Republic corresponded to international tourism, while domestic tourism accounted for the remaining share. A year earlier, the tourist service infrastructure of the Caribbean country was the best rated pillar in the Travel and Tourism Competitiveness Index (TTCI).
