The study covers the 327 most visited beaches in the world in 90 different countries. It is based on figures provided by local tourist offices, as well as data provided by UNWTO, the World Tourism Organization.
Total price (€) = sunscreen + water + beer + ice + meal + installation costs
Sunscreen: the cost of sunscreen corresponds to the average price of the various products sold in seaside resorts and local hotels, in pharmacies or supermarkets (those who sold them). We looked for protection ratings 30 in 200 ml format.
Water: the cost of water is calculated based on the average price of a 500 ml bottle of the three main local brands sold in seaside resorts and local hotels, in pharmacies or supermarkets (those who sold them).
Beer: the cost of beer is calculated according to the average price of the largest local beer brand as well as the retail cost of beers of the brands Heineken, Budweiser, Becks, Guinness and Fosters in relation to their local price. < br>
Ice: the cost of ice is calculated based on the average price of the brands of ice cream packaged in the capital of each country, to which the difference between the consumer price indices of each zone to which they apply applies.
