Students who successfully completed undergraduate studies at their universities in March of the respective year and successfully secured a regular employment. The number excluded graduates who went on to become clinical trainees and those who only found a temporary employment, which included part-time jobs as well as jobs with a contract of less than one year.

In 2024, approximately ** new university graduates in Japan secured regular employment. This amounted to ** percent of the student cohort graduating during that year. Despite the declining number of young people in the country, the number of new university graduates who found employment consecutively increased since 2021.
