As of the first quarter of 2020, 55 percent of semiconductor startups had their headquarters based in North America, with 29 percent of startups based in Europe. The remaining share of semiconductor startups were located in the Asia Pacific region. As noted by the source, in terms of countries, Israel (included in the European region) ranks second worldwide for the number of semiconductor startups, just behind the United States.
