In the fourth quarter of 2024, the insurance industry in France saw the highest value of investment in Europe, followed by Germany and Italy. Combined, the insurance market in the three countries accounted for over trillion out of the *** trillion euros worth of investments (other than assets held for index-linked and unit-linked contracts) in Europe. This includes investments in property other than for own use, holdings in related undertakings, such as participations, equities, bonds, collective investment undertakings, derivatives, deposits, cash investments and other investments. For many of the countries, life insurance was the leading segment in terms of investments.
