Light commercial vehicles, typically including delivery vans and other light vehicles under 3.5 gross metric tons in weight, were the most popular vehicle type in Europe, the Middle East, and Africa in 2021. With 14 and 13 percent market shares, trucks and forklifts were the region's second and third most sought-after commercial and off-highway vehicle types. The Spanish and Portuguese market reflects this broader trend. In 2022, light goods vehicles were the best-sellers in Portugal based on new commercial and off-highway vehicle registrations that year. That same year, the N1 category–including all vehicles used for goods transport and with a maximum weight under 3.5 metric tons–was Spain's best-selling commercial vehicle type.
