The coronavirus (COVID-19) crisis had a negative impact on the number of unemployed people in Norway. As of Week 35, 2021, about 75,000 people were unemployed in Norway. In week 11, 2020, the numbers were about 65,000, whereas it grew to almost 300,000 in week 16 in 2020. Norway lifted most of its national COVID-19 restrictions in September 2021.
