According to survey results from August 2020, around one fifth of the small and medium-sized enterprises in Finland had started temporary layoffs due to the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic. The number of temporary layoffs increased by five percent between March and April, but declined again in the months that followed. Around 78 percent of the companies reported that they had not started to lay off their workers by August 2020.

In March and April 2020, around 73 percent of the small and medium-sized enterprises in Finland estimated that the for their business. Nearly by the end of May 2020.
