Influenza season starts each year in October (calendar week 40) and goes until May (calendar week 20) of the following year. Figures prior to 2018-2019 were retrieved from previous reporting.
During the influenza season of 2023-2024, the number of cases of swine flu (influenza A H1N1) reported in Mexico amounted to 5,928. In the previous season, 277 cases of the swine flu were registered in the North American country, while for the period 2013-2014, the number of influenza A (H1N1) cases peaked at 6,905. During that season, the number of deaths due to the disease in Mexico reached around 998.
