A survey conducted in the United States in March 2020 revealed that in spite of the coronavirus outbreak, which has been recognized as beginning in January 2020, ** percent of adults had plans to attend a movie screening at a theater and attended the event regardless of the virus, whilst ** percent had plans but chose not to attend. For music concerts the figures were lower, a perhaps unsurprising result given that there has been greater support for concert postponements and cancellations since the outbreak than for movie theater closures.
