The change marked the first decline in ad spend since perhaps 2016 and comes after years of growth in, especially 2017 and 2020 - two years that proved important for cryptocurrency. The company focuses on the crypto market, and saw its growth decline as the digital tokens faced increasing criticism by the end of 2022.
