The source uses the Standard Industrial Classifications or Standaard Bedrijfsindeling (SBI) 2008 classification for classifying business establishments and other statistical united by the type of economic activity in which they are engaged. Where possible, the official English wording was used despite the source material being Dutch. For a full list of SBI 2008, please refer to the following .
The categories were as follows:
- 10-12 Voedings-, genotmiddelenindustrie - a combination of 10 Manufacture of food products, 11 Manufacture of beverages and 12 Manufacture of tobacco products;
- 13-15 Textiel-, kleding-, lederindustrie - a combination of 13 Manufacture of textiles, 14 Manufacture of wearing apparel and 15 Manufacture of leather, products of leather and footwear;
- 24-25 Basismetaal, metaalprod.-industrie - a combination of both 24 Manufacture of basic metals and 25 Manufacture of fabricated metal products, except machinery and equipment;
- 26-27 Elektrische en elektron. Industrie - a combination of both 26 Manufacture of computers, electronic and optical products as well as 27 Manufacture of electrical equipment;
- 28 Machine-industrie - or 28 Manufacture of machinery and equipment not elsewhere classified;
