In 2024, Wroclaw was rated as the city in Poland with the longest average travel time per 10 kilometers — 28.56 minutes, increasing by over four minutes compared to the previous year. In the Polish capital, Warsaw, the average travel time per 10 km was 23.25 minutes.Â
Passenger car market
In 2023, Poland was one of the countries with the highest number of registered motor vehicles in Central and Eastern Europe. Their value was more than twice the size of registered cars in Czechia. The passenger car market in Poland, despite fluctuations, is developing slowly and systematically. In 2023, a total of about 552,000 passenger vehicles were registered. Nissan car sales increased the most in 2024 compared to the previous year.
Road infrastructure in Poland
In recent years, investment in road transport infrastructure has fluctuated. In 2022, investments amounted to over three billion euros; in the past 15 years, the highest amount was invested in 2011, which amounted to about 8.3 billion euros. In contrast, over the past few years, maintenance expenditure on roads presented a trend of decline, wherein 2022 maintenance expenditure amounted to approximately 548 million euros. Furthermore, the number of roads was over 428,300 kilometers in that period.
