The tourism ratio of employment in Czechia declined over the observed period. Around 4.41 percent of total employed people in Czechia were employed in the tourism industries in 2019, down from 4.79 percent in 2003. By 2021, there was a further drop to 4.02 percent partly due to COVID-19 pandemic and the subsequent travel and tourism restrictions. In 2023, this share rose to 4.16 percent.
