In Australia in 2023, cinema-goers were predominantly over the age of 50; **** percent were male and **** percent were female. People in younger age groups were less likely to visit the cinema.

The wider picture and competitive ticket prices

Considering the age groups of cinema visitors as a whole, ** percent were aged over 50, and ** percent were in the 18 to 24 age group. Historically, these numbers have barely changed year on year. Average cinema ticket prices have increased over the last few years, reaching Australian dollars in 2024.

The cinemas themselves
