In 2018, the area illegally cultivated with coca in the Pacific region of Colombia decreased in comparison to the previous year, reaching **** thousand hectares. That area had increased by more than *** percent in the period between 2013 and 2017. As of 2018, Pacific was the Colombian region with the largest area of illegal coca cultivation.
