In Mexico, tacos are so present on the local eating culture that in 2016, taco and tortas restaurants accounted for 22 percent of restaurants in the country. In 2018, the place where people preferred to eat tacos was at home, with 43 percent of respondents mentioning that they like to eat tacos in their houses. More stablished restaurants are also popular places to eat tacos, with 42 percent of respondents choosing restaurants as their preferred place to enjoy this dish.
