During the three years between 2022 and 2024, mainland China on average accounted for **** percent of the global import value of agricultural products (not including fishing and forestry), making China the largest importer of agricultural products worldwide. China's global import share has increased considerably over the last 20 years, while its export share has not changed significantly. This illustrates China's growing dependence on the global market for the supply of food and other agricultural products.
