The statistic shows the distribution of holiday's booking procedures in Italy in 2018 and 2019. Both years recorded the same trend: according to the survey, Italian tourists preferred to book their holidays by themselves rather than relying on agencies and tour operators. In 2018, ** percent of the people interviewed booked their holidays autonomously, either by looking on the accommodations' websites, through specialized websites or by directly calling the accommodations. Although in 2019 the percentage of tourists booking via the accommodations' websites slightly decreased, the overall percentage of Italian tourists booking their holidays autonomously increased of * percent, reaching ** percent of the total.
