Is Thailand moving towards a greener future with an increase in BEV adoption?

Since 2022, there has been a shift to BEVs in Thailand from HEVs. Due to their lower price compared to all-electric cars, HEVs have gained increasing popularity in Thailand since the first models were introduced in 2009. However, as technology develops and government backing grows, BEV prices have decreased, shifting consumer opinions and making them more affordable.

To address consumer concerns regarding BEV purchases, the government has implemented incentives and subsidies to encourage the sale of BEVs. The transition from HEVs to BEVs is anticipated to continue in Thailand due to rising awareness among Thai consumers of the importance of sustainability and lowering carbon emissions. This is in line with the global push towards the electrification of the automotive industry and with the trend of steadily increasing numbers of all-electric vehicles worldwide.
