Waste production in Italy

Over the last few years, the volume of biodegradable waste produced in Italy has increased steadily. Lombardy was the region with the highest level of municipal waste generation, followed far behind by Lazio and Emilia-Romagna.

Material recovery in Italy

Almost **** of the solid municipal waste collected in Italy was intended for material recovery in 2022, whereas ** percent of it was sent to landfills.
