Iran Election 2021 - statistics & facts
On Friday 18th June, 2021 presidential elections were held in Iran. Seyyed Ebrahimi Raisi was elected as the new President with over 61 percent of the votes. In comparison to his predecessor Rouhani, Raisi is considered a hardliner. Although he is considered politically inexperienced, he did, however, serve as Chief Justice of Iran, an influential position to the country鈥檚 power structure.
