A little late to the race Google Cloud, or Google Cloud Platform (GCP), formerly known as App Engine, is a鈥痗loud computing鈥痵ervices suite launched by鈥疓oogle鈥痠n 2008. Which seemed more of a reaction to the rapid growth of AWS from Amazon. GCP starting off as platform as a service (PaaS), now offers infrastructure as a service (IaaS), and software as a service (SaaS) to organizations worldwide. Importantly, GCP is a service mainly for building and maintaining original applications that can subsequently be published from its鈥hyperscale data centers. In 2024,鈥Google Cloud generated revenues聽of over 43 billion U.S. dollars, which represents over 10 percent of鈥Google's total revenues.
