As the biggest archipelago in the world, it is not surprising that Indonesia is also one of the world鈥檚 largest producers and suppliers of fisheries products. Indonesians consume more than 35 kilograms of fish per capita per year, making it one of the most fish-dependent nations in the world. There has been a slow increase in the鈥share of the fisheries sector to Indonesia鈥檚 GDP鈥痠n the last decades, but it is relatively low compared to the contribution from land-based agriculture.
