International tourism in Spain- statistics & facts
Inbound tourism is one of the main drivers of the Spanish economy. According to the Bank of Spain, the expenditure of international tourists represented almost half of Spain’s service exports in recent years. Moreover, inbound tourism made up almost half of total internal tourism consumption in the Iberian country in 2023. During the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic, this trend was flipped, with domestic travelers accounting for most of the country’s internal travel spending.
