Saskatchewan is one of Canada’s prairie provinces and is bordered by Alberta, Northwest Territories, Manitoba, and the U.S. States Montana and North Dakota. It is a landlocked province, as it is the only province with entirely artificial boundaries, and is the sixth-most populous province. Saskatchewan is home to about 1.19 million people, with its capital and largest city being Saskatoon, which is home to over 340,000 people. Nearly half the population lives in a large urban area , in Saskatchewan’s two largest cities, Saskatoon and Regina, while a third lives in a rural area.
