Cambodia is located in Southeast Asia, bordering Laos, Thailand, and Vietnam. It has an estimated population of around 16 million people, which is expected to increase by more than 1 million by 2020. The capital, Phnom Penh, is one of the most populated cities in the Asia Pacific region. All in all, population figures in Cambodia are rising; although the fertility rate in the country is slowly decreasing, Cambodia is still among the countries with the highest fertility rates in Southeast Asian countries.
