Catering services in the U.S. - statistics & facts
Catering is the provision of food services, typically in locations that are not restaurants, such as hotels or event venues. As of May 2017, over 13 million people were employed in food services occupations in the United States, including all those related to food preparation and serving. Of those employees, approximately 404 thousand were institution and cafeteria cooking occupations and around 264 thousand were considered nonrestaurant food servers.
