Women's Super League - statistics & facts
Kicking off in 2011, the Women’s Super League (WSL) is the top tier of women’s football in England. The league attracts thousands of spectators every week, and in 2023/24, the WSL had the highest average match attendance out of Europe’s leading leagues. Beyond the stadium, the WSL’s global fanbase size amounted to over nine million in 2024 – some way off the U.S. National Women’s Soccer League, but nevertheless impressive when population is taken into account. In 2024/25, Chelsea won the league for the eighth time, finishing 12 points ahead of second-placed Arsenal.
