Construction costs have been a major concern for the construction industry in Canada over the past few years. Keeping in line with the inflation rate in Canada recently, the growth of residential and non-residential building construction costs in the country has been slowing down. These costs increased by 19.2 percent for housing in 2022, but by just 4.4 percent in 2024. The evolution of construction costs has had a strong impact on the performance of the industry as a whole, as well as on real estate prices.
