During its second term, the Trump administration announced the imposition of reciprocal tariffs in April 2025 to protect the United States’ manufacturing industry. These measures include a 19 percent tariff on goods from the Philippines after the tariffs have been revised in July. The Philippines outweighs the potential consequence of such a trade policy, especially with the U.S. being its top export partner in 2024.
