Insurance industry in Portugal - statistics & facts
The year 2024 was successful for the Portuguese insurance industry. With premium revenue increasing to over 14.3 billion euros in 2024, the sector revealed the strength of its national insurance companies. The non-life segment was responsible for most of the revenue registered in that year. The branches of health and motor insurance are particularly relevant, as the two encompass more than half of the non-life insurance premium revenue.
