MSMEs in Thailand - statistics & facts
Micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs) generated over one-third of Thailand’s GDP. The sector's substantial contribution to the country's output drives the rise of other key economic indicators, notably job creation and foreign commerce. However, Thai MSMEs' export growth has fluctuated since 2017, with a significant decline in 2020 due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Despite the downturn, the sector significantly recovered its international trade growth and expanded its exports to key trade partners. From manufacturing to offering trade and services, whether food, agriculture, or small hotels, MSMEs are, undoubtedly, a significant part of Thailand’s economic system.
