Largely managed by telecommunications companies and networks of licensed agents, mobile money allows users to deposit funds in to a virtual wallet, that may be later used for payments and purchases, including peer-to-peer payments. Mobile money is available to those without access to a bank account, bringing financial inclusion to underbanked regions of Africa.
