The risk index is defined as the number of fatal and serious accidents that occurred in a determined section for each 1,000 million vehicles per kilometer.
For the elaboration of the report, a total of 4,096 have been taken into account accidents that occurred in the Highway Network between 2012 and 2016, which were assigned to 1,389 sections of roads with a length of more than 24,899 kilometers.
