5-year relative survival estimates the percentage of cancer patients who will have not died from their cancer 5 years after diagnosis

Estimates are based on cases reported by selected cancer registries from 2015-2021 and follow-up of patients through December 31, 2021.

The selected registries include 43 NPCR registries (Alabama, Arizona, Arkansas, California, Colorado, Delaware, District of Columbia, Georgia, Idaho, Illinois, Indiana, Kansas, Kentucky, Louisiana, Maine, Maryland, Massachusetts, Michigan, Minnesota, Mississippi, Missouri, Montana, Nebraska, Nevada, New Hampshire, New Jersey, New York, North Carolina, North Dakota, Ohio, Oklahoma, Oregon, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, South Carolina, Tennessee, Texas, Utah, Vermont, Washington, West Virginia, Wisconsin, and Wyoming) that met the data quality criteria for survival analysis covering approximately 87.3% of the U.S population.
