As of 2017, smart speakers manufacturers originating in China had a relatively low number of shipments worldwide. However, the shipment size was expected to increase to nearly ** million units by 2019.

Consumer attitudes

In a survey gauging customer preferences regarding the price of audio electronics, over ** percent of respondents agreed to that they are willing to pay more for a brand they trust. Yet another factor motivating respondents to pay a higher price was the high-end technology of such devices. Moreover, users were also found to be particular about the voice over assistant supported on smart speakers, with many of them ranking the Xiao AI by Xiaomi as the most satisfactory.
