The survey outcomes suggest that the share of both students in the final year of primary education (in the Netherlands commonly referred to as "groep 8") as well as secondary school students decreased steadily between 2001 and 2017. In 2001, approximately ** percent of "groep 8" teenagers drank soft drinks daily. By 2013 this figure had more than halved, and as of 2017 just over ** percent of primary school students surveyed in the Netherlands consumed soft drinks on a daily basis.
