An ICO is a way for a company to raise venture capital. The company, usually a start-up, created a cryptocurrency and it sells these to investors. Dutch interest in investing in cryptocurrencies decreased since 2018, however, with no new surveys or information appearing about this topic in the Netherlands in 2019.
Because Bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies reached the news often in 2017, approximately ** percent of the households in the Netherlands who invested in cryptocurrencies started doing so in 2017.
