As of 2018, artificial intelligence-based business models and services were considered the most important AI and robotics topic among enterprises in Sweden. Over ** percent of the interviewed decision makers of companies chose it as leading topic and it was followed by machine learning, according to around ** percent of the respondents. Among the other topics which were considered important in Sweden that year, were the Robotic Process Automation (RPA), virtual assistants and robots, and algorithms.

Thoughts on AI 

The majority of the Swedes, interviewed in 2017, thought that artificial intelligence would improve and develop technology. The share of men who thought AI was interesting was almost ** percent higher than the one of women that year. Almost half of the respondents from both genders answered that AI scared them.

Swedes‘ different attitudes 

In 2018, the main positive aspect of AI development , according to Swedes, was that it would make everyday-services easier, such as shopping and transportation. Furthermore, roughly one third of the respondents said that it would improve quality of social services. On the other hand, the aspect of AI which seemed to be most concerning in Sweden that year, was that it could be used for bad purposes, for instance, wars or fake information. The second biggest concern was that society would get more digital and less personal.
