Data includes charities registered with the Australian Charities and Not-for-profits Commission (ACNC).
Figures are based on the ACNC Register at 31 December of each year. In the 2015 calendar year, over 5,000 charities were revoked as part of the double defaulter process (see below for an explanation). Around 2,200 charities were revoked in the 2016 calendar year.
